YOU
all  did what you had to do to protect yourselves and others from the 'enemy'.
Not the first time that something far smaller than we can even see was out to get us- and it won't be the last.
With the enemy 'contained' .  . . we are so happy to be able to begin sharing our passion for videoing
Cosplay Conventions.
It has been nearly 2 Earth-years since things went ugly, but we have already been able to begin editing ANI ME CON 10.0.
ASIANFEST is end of this month at Fresno City College and
on to ANIME FUSE in June, 2022.
We will to try to keep up with the WEEKEND BLENDERS as well.
THANKS AGAIN FOR FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT!
SEE YOU ALL SOON.

Stay COMIC-CONSCIOUS!

AMAZING to realize that-
1. It has been sooo long  since  Aaron, Jennifer, Lance and other friends had our booth in 1996 at the SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL COMIC CON!
2.  The event will not be held at the San Diego Convention Center for the first time in 50 years!
While reviewing my footage taken from inside the 'CON' in the early 2-thousands it is amazing to see how it had grown to these immense proportions in a relatively short amount of time.
In fact, for some time now, those who would like to attend the event have been turned away because of the 'limited' space. Talk has been that it might be moved to Anaheim someday.
(FYI-As a native of San Diego, I believe this site is, without a doubt, the most wonderful place on Earth for such an epic event to be held.)
On the other paw, I believe that EVERYONE who would like to attend should have the experience made possible- not improbable.
Nevertheless; news of its cancellation unfortunately makes sense when one views my video footage.
Talk about the LACK of 'social distancing'!
One would have to be an alien or super-human NOT to catch any avenging virus in an environment like this!
Disappointing= YES. Necessary=Obviously
SO . . . . Try to imagine the excitement, celebrating when the CON is resumed and continues on for many years to come.
Let us not forget those whose lives have been altered by this terrible pandemic.
May love and our appreciation for all that is Good persist in these troubled times.
Meanwhile; please stay COMIC-CONSIOUS.

Gigantic Miniatures!

10/22/2019

With a little time and imagination one may create an environment that looks like another place, but is really in your own back yard! This particular scene required a high degree of safety as the smoke was made by a 'smoke bomb' from the 4th of July. I always have a bucket of water available- just in case!
So . . . this scene also utilizes roots and twigs from plant. The structures in the background were made from chunks of Styrofoam. We sprayed the S-foam with diluted white-glue (PVA). Any harsh chemical, like stray-can paint, will eat away the S-Foam, so if you apply spray paint you can first use latex spray paint as a layer to serve as a barrier, IE,. a primer. Then you can spray normal paint on the surface.  A little over-spray can add some subtle colors and add dimension to the scene. If you are going to glue Styrofoam to an other piece of Styrofoam, you really should glue a sheet of paper between the foams and let it dry. If you just put PVA on each side and put them together, it takes forever to dry! Let the paper dry=then add more PVA and then put the pieces together for drying. There is dirt and there is sand. You will start to notice different colors of Earth as you delve into making your sets. This goes for Everything. Making miniatures scenes and structures follows one major rule: This is no such thing as JUNK! You will start to look at all things on the floor, on the garden, in your trash, after you unwrap something from the store in a "different" way. SO many ways to make models with things that no one else would take a second look at once you start! Putting items in the foreground also give your scene dimension. Even things blurry in front of the camera can add 'depth' as well. I keep old cans of paint too. They can be  brushed on to act as a primer/protector or provide color to objects. Moss can be bought from Dollar/99 cent Stores to serve as foliage. I spray roots with glue and dip roots and branches into moss to look like trees too. MANY things are available for model railroad scenes at hobby stores, but if you look around, there are tons of things that you can use in their place. (I DO buy things if necessary).
YOU are the master of your set, so keep an open mind! GOOD LUCK!

We believe in making scenes, costumes, etc. for  FREE whenever possible!
Taking 'trash' and 'recycling' it is not only a GOOD thing, it is the EASY and LEAST expensive solution to creating your video/photographic environments as well.
In fact, I won 1st Place at the Fresno Fair this year in the "Recycled Arts" category . . . WAHOO!
Below are some of the items I used for a Spaceship Repair Station.
How about YOU? It's a fun way to have your friends help too.

Rockets are made using used paper-roll inserts. Tim's Spaceship Repair Base (right) is made from a blister pack that headphones came it. To make clear windows I use painter's tape for masking (it is temporary and can use more than once if you keep the used tape). On top of the rocket is a milk-carton top Rosas I think-local. Yellow bottom of rocket in foreground is a lid from orange juice lid that I will spray gold. Base of Tim's is sand, red railing is sprue from a model that someone threw in the 'trash'. Blue tips of rocket are wooden plugs from Fresno Ag. What looks like a radar thing on lower left is taken off a toy that was thrown away during a City cleanup. Rocket engines are old toilet-paper inserts with Christmas ornament for the underside of rocket engine. Brown base is styrofoam sheet painted with Poster Paint from Allard's VerY cheap and will not eat styrofoam, is non-toxic and washes with water! YAY! We use paints from Target- lots of water-based colors is paint using my fingers a lot- why complicate things = right" I really like E-6000 glue for a number of reasons, ONE being I can rip parts off if I want to re-do. OH- I get balsa wood for attaching the rocket engines. MUSt be careful, as I am not a good knife wielder- small or large. Anyway, hope this gives you some ideas. Silver paint is Rustoleum appliance silver spray over primer. Use Elmer's glue too. AND FYI- I don't make any money touting brands, just want you to know what I use and try to tell you Why and What to make it simple, easy and CHEAP! Of course, it's all in the lighting when you do your filming, but keep watching. WE have more space-ship repair base models to make- about 5 of them for a larger Tim's set! Hope ya like this post!!

Greetings Comic Convention attendees:
IF you see someone you know, and they don't know you know,
or do not know what they should know. . . .
PLEASE let them KNOW that they have been
featured on our YouTube and CINEMACIRCUS.NET website
when they were at a local Comic Convention!
I can not always 'run and gun' and catch up to them and give them my
contact information.
Therefore, would you be so kind as to tell them for us?
They are STARS and it would be a shame for them  not to know this!
TY!!!!

concept costume for
The Universe of Void
novel

WINTER= COLD and DARK makes for the PERFECT TIME TO CREATE/UPGRADE!

With Daylight Savings Time (originated for our agrarian society) in effect it gets light sooner and Dark Sooner too. This time change was created in order for us to get more daylight in so we could harvest the crops in the Winter. Some states , or all of them, are thinking of negating them as times have changed.
At any rate, it is definitely dark at 5:30PM instead of 9PM as in the good 'ol Summertime.
With this in mind, consider something else we can do with our minds! It is a perfect time of year to stay indoors and learn cosplay costume skills on YouTube, i.e., Sheik Chan's channel. One can sit and watch, contact friends, and upgrade you arsenal of skills now. Also, you might have a pattern that has been sitting around, OR you can take the cosplay costumes you have now and make them even better with your new-learned skills.
At any rate- take advantage of this SUPER time of year to get your 'stuff' even more SUPER!
We will be looking for what you come up with in the Spring so time is on Your side. LOL-Cinemacircus.net Crew

Young people are living for the moment, and that is as it should be IF they see the BIG PICTURE, and CosPLAY accordingly!

Pictured here is Tom Baker of DR.WHO fame (one of the most famous and loved of the 'Doctors). Also pictured is Christopher Crouch and his wife (Colleen) who met at a Dr. Who convention a bunch of years ago.
SO . .  you might ask?
So, please think about this:
The costumes, the place, the venue, the FUN will be recorded for the ages to come. As you plan, create, and wear your creations think of it as creating your own timeline to the future as well.
You control what future generations will see and know about YOU.
These folks, for example, have been intimately involve with the BBC epic known as 'Dr. Who' for many years now- decades actually. This series is still ongoing and it's past and present will live on for as long as the internet exists!
When Chris started working at the BBC he had no ideas that the Dr. Who products, i.e., toys, figures, clothing would change the world of sci-fi merchandizing forever- but it has, and is still going strong.
Now Chris and his wife are living, not in Britain, but in Central California in a rural setting.
Chris is being interviewed by us when he is now very 'senior' and his tales are  historical epics. WHO knew- to pun?
The point is this:
Take your FUN and CONsciousness SERIOUSLY! The things that are for the moment, are just that- for now. But . . . . we hope you realize that what you do today will be so much more astounding when you and your children's children look back on what you are doing and will be doing at these Comic Conventions.
You are essentially a 'time-traveler' because you are creating what you and others will enjoy, relive and look at in the future. Even tomorrow is the 'future'.
It is all a matter of degree.
WHO knew TOM BAKER  of Dr. Who fame, his wife COLLEEN who met Chris at a Dr. Who convention and CHRIS himself, would share the stories of the early days of Dr. Who, half way around the world, many moons later, simply because someone told me who he was, where he lived, and how to get to interview him for two outstanding hours.
We, at CINEMACIRCUS.NET, are looking forward to hearing YOUR STORY, and seeing YOUR PHOTOS and making YOUR VIDEOS that will live on long after you . . .  well . . . . ENJOY the RIDE!!
We will see YOU at the next Comic Convention.
REMEMBER what Micah is saying, "YOU can run, but you can't HIDE-
so show us your BeST  'game'"!
