Hi!
I was jittering and talking faster than usual and realized it was because I drank some high-octane coffee.
You will not know by looking at this script how many typos I made to write this entry. I will go much faster than my brain and fingers can coordinate.
THANKS for SJpELL CHIK!
Perhaps you are, right now, indulging in some 'boost juice', like come "Starburst" or "Catapult" drinks. (Not bad names for my brews to be created when I have 'time'.)
Anyway, where was I?
Oh yes . . . It occurred to me that being energized is a good thing. Being full of energy is so important for those who are on the 'production end' of movie-making! We ALL need to be at the top of our 'game' as we all depend on each of us to pull our share of the 'load'. So . . . .
. . . . that brings us to Craft Services.
YES! It is important to have energy powered by food. What you might consider is what KIND of energy. Is it only jet fuel that you offer, or is it less high heat energy - like say . . . protein as well?
Are some of the carbs complex (lasting energy which lasts longer than pure adrenaline cane) so as to sustain a good level energy level?
Here's the thing. Consider that energy produced by protein and complex carbohydrates (ask JEEVES what those are) will provide longer running time per mouthful.
Nuts, cheeses, rice cakes, peanut butter are some examples that come to mind.
Also be aware that actors and people in the 'biz' are particular about what they shove where. For instance, an actor was almost personally affronted when the Producer/Director had me buy Tommy Burgers to the set. This is, of course, a fine meal by some person's standards, but Mike is a martial arts expert and worked on The Puppet Master, for one. He told me to get him MEDRX, and now, as I am more educated, understand why.
The moral, be good to your actors by giving them what they need, and what they want and everyone will be in sync.
With sugar only, some with spike while others drop like lead feathers and this is not good for a cohesive team event like long hours and high energy requirements like a movie production, OR play, for that matter.
Eat well and prosper!!!!!!!!!!
Whew, I think I will go climb a mountain and carry rocks uphill to wear off this 'upper''.
