Isn't is wonderful when one thinks about it?(It is wonderful when one even thinks on their own nowadays- period?), , but we must move on here, unhindered by deeper thoughts.
The idea of a 'nobody' becoming an idol is pretty amazing. Consider the act of "Idolizing",( not idolatry, nor worshiping idols). Doesn't if feel good to see someone win? We know how they sing and perform their hearts out for the gold ring. We can live the journey with them from beginning to end. We feel apart of the experience that this show has offered us. Our votes are real and, unlike those on a ballot, truly make a difference. No lobbyist, political party, or any other force holds the final vote. Even the judges could hold one higher, or decide who wins, but the one whom we all chose ultimately wins. Of course, it may not be the one we voted for, but our vote counted by virtue of its essence.
The ability/chance/twist of fate/luck for someone to become a celebrity in the USA is awesome. It is a bright facet in the diamond of the American life. One must be talented to a rare degree, but not so rare that many people could be that idol, but for some reason did not try out.
Aren't we , in the USA, rich in life anyway! Each of us has a door to open that allows us to enter a life that few have the fortune to even consider in their own existences?
In other words, our dreams are not to be immediately shattered by impenetrable forces. The BILL OF RIGHTS assures us that one can rise to a level, far above those restraints from others, from political structures of socialism and self-serving dictators. We need to keep our creativity alive and our fields of hope fertile, just as a 'wanna be' contestant does on Idol.
Go to your next day- tomorrow morning- as if you are auditioning for your dream life. Go, even though others have dropped their shovels and wait for someone else to dig for them. Audition like crazy, act, produce, direct, edit, paint, write like a contestant in the biggest show of your life because that is exactly what it is!
No matter what your goals are. take a lesson from IDOL and engage!
Our freedom demands it and a fuller life depends on it.
Be well and prosper!
